ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 9, 2004

7:00 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula Keefe, Richard Gorden, Ellen

                  Abelson and Mark Mazur.

1. The Board approved the minutes to our 7/29/04 meeting.
2. The Board granted real estate abatements under the authority of M.G.L. Chapter 60, Section 2 for the fiscal years 1986 through 1996.  The tax due on each property was under $10.00.
3. The Board reviewed the following forms in preparation for sending them to the state for approval of our fiscal 2005 tax rate:  the LA-4 Assessment Classification Report; the LA13 Tax Base Levy Growth form and the LA-15 Interim Year Adjustment Report.  After reviewing and discussing these reports and form, the Board approved them for submission to the state.
4. The Board decided to go forward with a classification hearing at 8:45 P.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2004.  To do so, we will need state approval of our LA-13, LA-15 and LA-4 forms.
5. The Board decided to make the following recommendations at the classification hearing:

                  -That the Selectmen choose a residential factor of one

                  -That the Selectmen not adopt a residential exemption.

                  -That the Selectment not adopt a small commercial exemption

6.  The Board discussed the inspection that they and the Administrative Assessor are

     scheduled to conduct tomorrow at 26 Castle Drive.
