ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

NOVEMBER 4, 2004

 

7:00 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula Keefe, Ellen Abelson, Richard

                 Gorden and Mark Mazur.

  1. The Board reviewed and approved as amended the minutes to our 10/21/04 meeting.
  2. The Board read a letter from the State Department of Revenue approving our fiscal year 2005 tax rate.
  3. The Board read an article from the Sharon Advocate concerning our fiscal year 2005 tax rate.
  4. The Board reviewed a final version of our fiscal year 2005 tax rate recapitulation form.
  5. The Board reviewed a final version of our handout for the fiscal year 2005 classification hearing.
  6. The Board took the following action on the following fiscal year 2006 application for classification under M.G.L. Chapter 61B:

            Sharon Country Club      granted for 5 parcels

      

7.  The Board signed a notice of action for the fiscal year 2006 application of the

Sharon Country Club for classification under M.G.L. Chapter 61B.

  1. The Board reviewed information concerning our overlay accounts and new

growth.  The Board decided to provide the Town Administrator with the following preliminary estimates to help them with long range planning.

         FY2006 New Growth                         $225,000

         FY2006 Overlay to be Raised            $500,000

Once we receive information about outstanding taxes from Treasurer/Collector, Rob Uyttebroek we will provide an estimate for the overlay to be released in the Spring of 2005.

  1.  The Board discussed quarterly tax billing.  They then approved and signed a letter asking the Selectmen to conduct a cost benefit analysis of quarterly tax billing.
  2. The Board took the following actions on fiscal year 2005 applications for
