Energy Committee Meeting Minutes

September 15, 2010

Sharon Community Center, 7:00 PM

Attendees: Lynn Wolbarst, Silas Fyler, Rosemary Tambouret,

Patricia Bluestein, George Aronson, Craig Edwards and Ernest Kahn.

1.  Approved Minutes for the 06/10/10 and 08/1910 meetings.

2.  Agreed that Craig would respond to the Selectmen’s request to verify who is on the Energy Advisory Committee.  We are supposed to have 15 including Ben Puritz.  The town website list hasn’t been updated in quite a while.  We will send an email reminder and then follow up with a phone call.  Before anyone is removed we will send a letter by mail.

3.  Discussed solar project for the Town Land fill area.  The Selectmen have asked the Energy Advisory Committee to reaffirm our support for the Weston & Sampson proposal #34010. 

“The committee’s approval of the project approach assumes the town and its employees have used a proper approved procurement process to choose to use Weston & Sampson.”  We voted in the affirmative to confirm the support of the selectman’s decision to retain Weston & Sampson of phases 1+2 for the proposal #34010 dated 09/09/10.  The vote was 6 in the affirmative, 0 in the negative and 1 abstention (George Aronson).

4.  Energy use is going down across the town buildings. 

5.  Water/Energy Fair on September 25, we expect 30 to 40 vendors.  Budget is balanced with tight management.  A request was made for help to setup the gymnasium for the event.

6.  Signatures of those present for authorization to use Energy Fair money from past events and help in town accounts for the 2010 fair.
