Minutes – September 19, 2011

- There was a fairly brief agenda with no appointments. A
new draft list was presented with four additional articles. October 6
public hearing by Planning Board. Their next meeting would be on October
18 for vote.
- Budget memo from the Town Administrator: 1. Primary
budget should total no more than level funding based on the FY’12
appropriation including steps and a 2% increase. 2. 1st
Option (2% salaries & Steps). 3. 2nd Option (Level
Services, 2% salaries & steps) up to 5% overall budget increase. 4.
3rd Option (Needed/Level Services, 2% salaries & steps) in
excess of the 5% overall increase figure as necessary to achieve level
services.
- There was some discussion on the budget memo to be
discussed further at another meeting.
- Additional Articles and Proponents: 17. Ban dogs on
Community Center Beach. Proponent: Cliff Towner. 18. Acquire or take
by eminent domain land on S. Main St. Proponent: Board of Selectmen.
19. To accept deeds in lieu of foreclosure on certain parcels.
Proponent: Finance Director. 20. Amend Zoning By-laws – new definition
of Assisted Living Facilities. Proponent: Epoch Senior Living.
