MINUTES OF MEETING
SHARON BOARD OF HEALTH

January 9, 2012

A meeting of the Sharon Board of Health was held on Monday, January 9, 2012,  beginning at 7:30PM at the Sharon Town Office Building.  In attendance were Suzi Peck, Chair, Andrew Stead, and Ed Welch.

Minutes of Meeting of December 12, 2011
VOTED: (Stead//Welch) unanimously to approve the minutes of the meeting of December 12, 2011, as amended.

Annual Town Report Submission
VOTED: (Peck/Stead) unanimously to approve submission with minor changes suggested

DPH Local Health Internship.....MPH grad students....
The Board reviewed a request from Sheila Miller for suggestions for the request for a DPH Local Health Intern: Suggestions included: A) Compiling the number of bedrooms in the Zone Twos, using GIS system and assessors’ property records. B)Analysis of issues related to the Community Center Beach.

Variance Hearing: 46 Morse St.
Dave Welch, contractor, and Deepak Wadhwa, property owner, were in attendance.  According to Contractor Welch, the Building Inspector has noted that the house should be condemned.
House currently has 2 bedrooms; Dave Welch: since required to install a 3 bedroom system would install a 3 bedroom home. Suzi Peck noted that is the state requirement unless there is a deed restriction (e.g., for 2 bedrooms) on the property.  Suzi Peck explained that only a 2 bedroom home would be allowed, with a deed restriction,  since it is currently a 2 bedroom home.  Maximum feasible compliance.  Jim andrews recommended that the system be constructed for two (2) becrooms. Can build a 3 bedroom system if desired,  but with deed restriction for 2 bedrooms. In this case, no hearing will be required.  Mr. Welch will provide floor plans to Jim Andrews for the Board to review; the Board will then require a deed restriction.

David Oberlander, P.E., arrived at 8:05 PM.  Suzi Peck summarized the Board’s discussion on this project.

Andy Stead noted that, as discussed at the December meeting, a letter should be sent by certified mail notifying the property owner of 339 South Main Street that such house may not be occupied unless the alternative system is turned on and properly monitored and maintained under contract.

The meeting was adjourned at   8:15 PM.
