        The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at 7:30 P.M. in the Sharon Town Offices with Chair Allen M. Garf, Selectmen Norman Katz and Walter Joe Roach and Town Administrator Benjamin E. Puritz.

        The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M.

Minutes

VOTED:  (Katz/Roach)  Voted unanimously to approve the Minutes of January 28, 2003 including Executive Session.
        
Teen Center Update - Marjorie Mitlin

Marjorie Mitlin was present to discuss the history and goals of the Sharon Teen Center located in the Town Square.   Doors opened up to the Teen Center in September 2002.  Ms. Mitlin stated that present activities are centered on middle-school children, but plans are underway to expand to high school students.  The Teen Center is funded by donations from the community and businesses, and there are no fees for the participants.   There is presently one paid director and more volunteers are needed to work at the Center.   Fundraising events scheduled include:  a Valentine’s Day Dance, Basketball Competition, and a November 1st  Dinner/Dance.  Plans are to allow this program to grow and to recruit more people for grant writing and fundraising.  Ms. Mitlin put out a request for donations of art supplies, cooking utensils, snacks, fruit and money.  

Standing Building Committee

Selectman Roach discussed correspondence from Joel Wolk concerning the Wilber School project and concerns expressed relating to suggestions of certain members that alternatives to the existing proposals be considered, including demolishing the existing Wilber School Building.  The Board plans to attend the meeting of the Standing Building Committee this evening at the conclusion of the Selectmen’s Meeting.  

Water Issues

The Board briefly discussed plans to schedule water issues on an upcoming Selectmen’s Meeting.

Executive Session
                                
VOTED: (Roach/Garf) Voted unanimously to enter into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing matters of Collective Bargaining and Pending Litigation, and at the conclusion thereof,  to adjourn for the evening.

The Board entered into Executive Session at 8:15 P.M.
