Cottage Street Elementary School (Heery, Strekalovsky and Hoit)
Construction and Budget Status:  Mr. Peter Collins gave an overview of the construction progress at Cottage Street.  The new lockers should be delivered within the next two weeks.  The renovation of the 8 existing classrooms is nearly complete the removal of the floor tiles from the corridors and classrooms has been finished.  In the administration area the new door openings have been completed.  The kitchen equipment will be delivered within the next week.  All deliverable items will be on site no later than July 30th.  The adjustable backboards will be completed within the next two weeks.  Mr. Maggiore, Strekalovsky and Hoit informed the committee that the contractor has stated that the job will be completed on August 15th.  Member Croteau asked about kitchen equipment installation and if the food service staff will be trained prior to the first day of school.  The steel beam at the front entrance will be installed on July 9th. The site contractor will be on staff on July 14th to work on site completion.
Reports of subcommittee on Change orders - no change orders were presented at this time.  The architect is awaiting the signed original from the contractor.
Sight Lighting - Status of Redesign - the committee reviewed a letter from Carlos DeSousa, GGD regarding the removal on light poles from the front of the building.  If any of the poles are removed then the light will drop below the IESNA Chapter 24 standards.  The architect stated that if the committee would like to recommend the removal of any poles it would open up a liability issue and they would like to be removed from any liability.  It was their recommendation that the poles be installed per contract drawings and install shields on the light fixtures.  Ms. Abigail Marster, Cottage Street stated that she is concerned that the site will be lit up like a car dealership.  It was the consensus of the committee that the lights be installed per contract documents.
Resolution of Front Driveway Entry - The committee reviewed the revised sketch that eliminated the parking spots from the island.
Decisions to be made:  The committee reviewed the budget detail.  The architect was asked to review their contracts for additional services to determine with their work was complete.  Member Gladstone asked for a review of the A/E revisions.  Chairman Wolk stated that the project manager would do this review at a later date.
