Members Not Present:  Vice Chair Deb Benjamin, Steve Smith, Roger Thibault

Others Present: Michael McKeon and David Morais – KBA Architects

Robert White – Daedalus Projects Inc.

The meeting of the Sharon Standing Building Committee was held at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Community Center.

The meeting of the Standing Building Committee came to order at 6:35 PM.

3. Sharon Middle School

Mike McKeon reviewed meeting held with Mr. Fowkes of MSBA.  Comments concerned number of classrooms and changing some of the classroom usage to meet MSBA standards.

Construction estimates in progress by KBA and Daedalus.  Two estimates to be reconciled prior to submittal to MSBA.

Noted that final budget, estimates and plans must be done for 9/9/09 submittal to MSBA.  Total budget to be discussed at SSBC meeting on 9/1/09.  Member Wolk requested that the format of the budget be same as MSBA format.

Noted that feasibility study agreement has been submitted.

Required submittal to Massachusetts Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to use Construction Management at Risk is nearly complete by Daedalus and should be submitted in next few days.  Daedalus was reminded to start the selection process for CM at Risk simultaneously during the OIG approval period.

KBA handed out ENGINEERING ECONOMIC ANALYSIS prepared by Garcia- Galuska-DeSousa for selected HVAC systems including initial and life cycle costs.  SSBC and Sharon Public Schools to review and comment.
