The meeting of the Sharon Standing Building Committee was held at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Community Center.

The meeting of the Sharon Standing Building Committee was called to order at 6:35 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Community Center.

1. Administration

MOTION:  To approve the meeting minutes of August 4, 2009 (Wolk/Tuck) - unanimous (Thibault and Rice abstained as they were not at the meeting.)

MOTION:  To approve the meeting minutes of August 18, 2009 as amended (Wolk/Tuck) - unanimous (Benjamin, Smith and Thibault abstained as they were not at the meeting.)

2.         Community Center Update

3.         Sharon Middle School

MOTION:  To approve invoice from Kaestle Boos Assocates for professional services July 28 – August 28, 2009 in the amount of $64,532.50.  (Wolk/Slater) – unanimous

MOTION:  To approve invoice from Gelerman for professional services in the amount of $1,740.00.  (Wolk/Slater) – unanimous

It is required by the MSBA that a Sharon Middle School Phase I Environmental report be completed.  A proposed scope of work and cost estimate from Ransom Environmental Consultants, Inc. for Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. to complete a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment for Sharon Middle School, 75 Mountain Street, Sharon, Massachusetts in the amount of $2,400 plus a mark-up of 10% was presented to the Sharon Standing Building Committee.

MOTION:  To accept as reimbursable the services of Ransom Environmental Consultants, Inc. to complete a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment for Sharon Middle School, 75 Mountain Street, Sharon, Massachusetts in the amount of $2,400 plus a mark-up of 10% ($2,640.00).   (Slater/Wolk) – unanimous

Mike McKeon brought to the committee two sets of the additions and renovations plans re Sharon Middle School and are available for review at the Standing Building Committee office.  KBA will be giving a presentation re Middle School plans to the School Committee on September 9, 2009.

KBA passed out the estimated project budget costs to the committee.  Individual line items were discussed, as well as, which line items are reimbursable and which are not reimbursable.

MOTION:  To adjourn the meeting at 8:30 p.m. (Wolk/Slater) unanimous
