Mr. Nebenzahl called the meeting to order at 7:21 p.m.

ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS

Approve Minutes

MOTION: (Tuck/Bailey) Moved to approve the Open Session minutes from the meeting of January 12, 2009 as submitted to the Committee. Vote was P. Arguimbau, G. Bailey, C. Tuck, A. Nebenzahl in the affirmative. P. Izzo and P. Pietal abstained.

Mr. Nebenzahl stated that the meeting would be brief as the Commission was scheduled to meet with the Town’s Financial Director. There appeared to be a miscommunication as the Financial Director was not in attendance at tonight’s meeting.

Future agenda items were discussed such as possibly scheduling meetings with Bill Friel, Town Administrator in Canton, Mr. Joe Forino, a member of the Town Council in Winthrop who also served as Chair of their Charter Commission and Jeff Nutting, former Town Manager of Stoneham.

OTHER BUSINESS

Mr. Bailey suggested that Commission members might go on line to review South Hadley’s Charter – more as a learning exercise rather than using South Hadley’s Charter as a model. Mr. Izzo stated he would be interested in reviewing Mayoral Charters.

Mr. Nebenzahl will schedule the Town Moderator for a future Commission meeting.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, Mr. Nebenzahl asked for a motion to adjourn.

MOTION: (Bailey/Izzo) Moved to adjourn. Vote was six in the affirmative.

Open Session was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
